The M96 Thunder Grenade Paintball Pellets or 6mm Airsoft BB is built to utilize an already existing full product line of Grenade Launchers. M96 Thunder Grenade fires up to 204 of 6mm paintballs/airsoft pellets at once. Get within 25 feet of an opponent and let the paint fly. The M96 Thunder Grenade can operate on both CO2 and Green Gas. CO2 offers 800 PSI, while Green Gas only offers 100 PSI. For the best results, use your M96 Charger Adapter to fill each M96 Thunder Grenade with CO2.
Before going into everything awesome about this just a couple of advisories. The stock detent is really not much more than a weak o ring at the end if the grenade (small black ring... view moreat the end) and shots will roll out with it especially if shaken or put under normal amounts of stress. I cut the old one out and put two small black rubber bands normally used as hair ties. You can buy 300 of them for like $2 at a Walgreen's.
All that aside, holy crap guys if you are a CQB building clearing type and want a reason to run an M203 you got one. I normally run an M17 with the Phantom shorty launcher and switch between this and the .43 caliber Thunder grenade. The .43 cal gets the eliminations a little better as I can load it with actual paint. 6mm paintballs with a shell soft enough to break are hard to find. MCS used to sell them back in the Rap4 days was my understanding but doesn't right now. Airsofters had em break in their guns all the time and complained. I currently use 6mm chalk coated rounds that leave a mark and when you're hit by 10+ you'll know you got hit. Some guys don't want to count it as an out but the shell functions great in paintball as a "stun round" of sorts. When this goes off it is very loud and anything in a 30 foot spread at about 25 feet is getting multiple hits, 5-10 minimum. They are fairly painful and give you enough time to drop a follow up double tap if people don't throw their hands up fast.
