I received my Lok Bolt yesterday and installed it in less than 20 minutes. This is an excellent upgrade! It works exactly as intended and it does several things that will help perf... view moreormance when compared to the standard, or other after market breaches/chambers.
1) this breach absolutely prevents chopping paint. I have chopped paint with my pistol before. I attempted to chop paint with the Lok Bolt installed by firing as fast as possible and I could not.
2) This upgrade helps conserve air/CO2. Although it still fires and consumes some air, it is not nearly as much as a normal shot. This is important to me because I usually use my pistol as a sidearm running on CO2. I carry four standard (7)round magazines and a CO2 cartridge has just enough power to fire all four of them. However, if I'm not careful to count my shots and I end up dry firing, I will not be able to fire all shots from my last magazine. This Lok Bolt will conserve those dry fire shots and allow me to get all four mags off on a single 12gr CO2.
3) My final point is that upon running dry on your mag the Lok Bolt greatly reduces the sound signature. The video reviews from MCS do not accurately portray how quite the shot is when the chamber is empty. It is much quieter. This does two things for you. It let's you know you are empty, not just because the sound signature is so much lower but you can feel it too. The other point on the sound signature is that it will not give away the fact that you're empty to your opponent. You know, like I do, when someone is out of paint on the field. The sound is much louder. Unless your opponent is very close and knows what they're listening for, this Lok Bolt will not give your opponent that loud bang that is indicative of an empty gun.
I know that the product description says it does not work well with First Strike rounds. I would like to test this myself before declaring that as a fact. If it does not work, I will follow up with another review. Moving on to the overall build quality; it is excellent. The fit in the pistol is perfect. The finish on the whole chamber inside and out was flawless, it was coated evenly and smoothly throughout. The thread pitch is perfectly mated for accepting the barrel and there is more threading which better supports the barrel when assembled. Word of advice, there is an O-ring in the original chamber that assists barrel lock up. Do not forget to either remove it from your current chamber and put it in the Lok Bolt chamber or put a new O-ring in the Lok Bolt chamber. The only downside to the Lok Bolt is that you cannot use the ball indicator window in the top of the gun. And this is not really a con because I don't ever use it and I've never seen anyone else use it either.
Finally, I highly recommend this Lok Bolt chamber. It is well built and does exactly what it is supposed to. It seems a little pricey, BUT it is well built and offers A LOT of positive value to this gun. All things considered, I think this is the BEST UPGRADE available for the TiPX pistol. view less
